Best iPhone Game Updates: ‘Game of Thrones: Conquest’, ‘Final Fantasy V’, ‘Marvel Future Revolution’, and More

Hello everyone, and welcome to the week! It’s time once again for our look back at the noteworthy updates of the last seven days. I’m having one of those Mondays, friends. You know the sort: where you put the butter on your toast and then proceed to drop it. But work isn’t going to do itself, so here I am with some fresh updates for you to ponder while hopefully not dropping your toast. Of course, you can keep an eye out for updates yourself by participating in the TouchArcade forums. This weekly summary is just here to fill you in on the things you might have missed. Let’s go for it!

FINAL FANTASY V, $17.99 Square Enix has delivered some fairly hefty updates to a number of the Pixel Remaster Final Fantasy games, with each one fixing a lot of bugs and odd behaviors specific to the games in question. So for example, this update is doing a lot of fixes around the Brave Blade and Chicken Knife, which were doing some strange things. There are a ton of other minor adjustments and bug squashes in this version, so I recommend checking the update notes for more precise details.

Bacon – The Game, Free The video game proof that you can put bacon on just about anything continues to layer on more evidence of such. Which is to say, this latest version of the game has ten new levels of bacon-flipping fun. That’s it. Go forth and ham it up yet again. See what’s bacon. Alright, stick a pork in it, I’m done.

Jetpack Joyride, Free Those Turtles are so hot these days. Jetpack Joyride heads back to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for another event, this time giving you the chance to collect April, Michelangelo, and Leonardo. Raphael and Donatello costumes are available, along with a Pizza Jetpack, Mouser, Sewer Surfboard, and some new vehicle skins and backgrounds. Cowabunga!

Simon's Cat - Story Time, More matching puzzles for the matching puzzle gods. The Dawn Patrol update adds more than two hundred and fifty levels and extra gardens to explore. Yeah, that will keep folks busy for a while. Other than that, it’s bug fixes, performance improvements, and some visual enhancements. But it’s a matching puzzle game, so I’m not sure what else a person could want except for a big beep-beep truck full of new levels to play.

Cooking Mama: Cuisine!, I must have been sleeping when this one came out, but I guess Cooking Mama is on Apple Arcade now? It came out three months ago? Okay, I can roll with that. This looks to be the first update of any real substance for the game, adding in some new ingredient sets including fish, avocados, and more. Hard to believe there wasn’t fish in here up until now, unless it means they’ve added more fish. You also may notice some adjustments to the game balance, and some fixes for a few pesky bugs. Or you may not. Those things can sometimes be invisible to many players. But they are there, I assure you. The notes would never lie.

Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis, Here’s another Apple Arcade game update, this time for Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis. With these character-based games, people generally want to see new additions to the roster. Lucky day, that’s what this one is all about! It adds Timmy Turner from The Fairly OddParents, and he brings a new story, new wearables, new abilities, and more with him. I suspect he may not play exactly according to the rules, but really, who is playing by the rules in this game?

MARVEL Future Revolution, Free I’m doing the expected thing and giving the coveted UMMSotW award to a Marvel game this week. It’s not particularly rich in Spider-Mans, but Spider-Man and Wolverine did switch bodies once or twice. Oops, I’ve given away the main feature of this update. Wolverine is the latest playable hero in Future Revolution, and it’s about time if you ask me. This update also adds new companions in the form of Baby Groot and Magneto, plus the new Squad Battle. A bunch of other little improvements and balance tweaks have been made as well, but as we’ve said, those are mostly invisible. Which beats intangible any day of the week, as improvements go.

Gardenscapes, Free Austin understands that a good butler has to be ready for everything. That’s why he’s practicing stunts in the new Acrobatic Season to put on a fantastic show. Also in this update: help a pop star put the shine back on their fame with a Makeover, learn about bees with a special honey fair, and help a chef open a pastry shop. The adventures in the garden continue with new guests on the set and a winner for the contest. There’s a new area to unlock, bringing with it the secrets behind a mysterious actress and an old abandoned hotel. Not bad for the obligatory free-to-play matching puzzle update.

Game of Thrones: Conquest â„¢, Free I guess there is some kind of new show starting up in this series? House of the Dragon, I believe? This update is pretty excited about that, because it is all about the dragons. You get new dragon customizations, a new dragon lore excavator farm plot, a new hero in the form of Rhaegal, and some new Dragon’s Dominion March pawns. Yes, that is a lot of dragon-ish stuff. Dragons are cool crowd-pleasers, so if anything will help Game of Thrones regain its popularity, it will be them.

World of Tanks Blitz - 3D War, Free Okay, let’s see what’s new in World of Tanks Blitz. Apparently new shot sounds. The game has been around a while now, so I guess you do what you can after this many years. There are also some new events lined up with plenty of awards including vehicles like the Skoda T 45, the Cromwell B, and more. A bunch of tournaments are coming, and something called Operation Street Fury that involves the Enforcer tank. That all seems very adequate.

That about wraps it up for last week’s significant updates. I’m sure I’ve missed some, though, so please feel free to comment below and let everyone know if you think something should be mentioned. As usual, major updates will likely get their own news stories throughout this week, and I’ll be back next Monday to summarize and fill in the blanks. Have a great week!
